Living Waters for the World: Project HOPE (Helping Our Partners Excel)

Eight years ago, a Living Waters for the World team began a water partnership with Iglesia Pentecostal Evangelia in San Lucas Taliman, Guatemala. The church was eager to begin sharing clean, sustainable water for their community. They hit some bumps during their first year of water system operation, but by the end of the second year, with assistance from their LWW-trained water team and employing best practices, they were able to double their reach into their community. That continuous improvement process has never stopped, and as of this writing, Iglesia Pentecostal Evangelia’s water plant has been expanded to keep up with the demand for clean water, now having produced over two million gallons of purified water for their community!

Stories like this one have inspired Project HOPE – Helping Our Partners Excel, a new initiative to work with existing Living Waters for the World partners throughout the world, helping them take their water ministries further, reaching more children and families in need of clean water.

“Living Waters for the World is a loaves and fishes story,” says Steve Young, LWW Executive Director.  “And the story is still being written.  Our water partners throughout the world have been steadfastly serving their communities – some for more than 20 years.  Now, if given the opportunity to tap into newer equipment, updated training and improved distribution, our partners are poised to significantly expand the number of families who can be served.  We welcome all to join us by financially supporting this vital work.” An outreach ministry of Synod of Living Waters, Living Waters for the World is now a primary global witness of the PCUSA, having trained over 2,600 volunteers who have partnered with more than one thousand communities in 28 nations.  To donate to Project HOPE, visit www.livingwatersfortheworld.org
